Happy First Monday!

We hope you had a relaxing weekend. We are ready to get things really rolling this week.

Here is what we did today:

Math: We took another pretest and should be ready to begin in the book soon.

Reading: In Mrs. D's class we did some reading strategy work with a read aloud from our textbook. The students also partner read a story about Jessica McClure and did some comprehension activities individually. If this did not get finished in class it is homework.
In Mr. H's class we talked about our new story "Eye of the Storm" and we read and discussed pages 57-68.

Science: We did our first activity on classification. Ask your student about the bean activity. We also had a reading and comparing assignment on spiders and lizards that is due tomorrow.

Spelling: We started working on unit one spelling words. We copied our words three times each for practice. Here are our words for this week:
operate, claim, needle, beneath, foggy, gasoline, eighty, freight, complete, scary, neighbor, daily, screen, police, explain, feature, straight, memory, contain, populate.
We will have a pretest on Tuesday and a final test on Friday.

Social Studies: We began discussing chapter 1 lesson one on the landscape of the US.

English: We did page nine in the book in class parts A and B on complete subjects and predicates.

Have a great evening!
