Happy Columbus Day!

Here is what we did today:

Math: We discussed lesson 40 dealing with writing quotients using mixed numbers. Lesson 40 was assigned and is due tomorrow. We will also have a test tomorrow.

Science/Health: We discussed actions, reactions and stress today. The students have a worksheet reviewing vocabulary words that is due tomorrow.

Spelling: Unit 8 words were introduced today. Here is the list for the week: humble, angel, council, pupil, final, normal, angle, syllable, festival, panel, evil, rural, fossil, scramble, marvel, loyal, general, parcel, civil, counsel. The students wrote their words three times each for tomorrow.

Reading: In Mrs. D's class we continued to work on our Running Out of Time projects that are due on Friday. We also began a new book the sequel to the City of Embers, The People of Sparks we are excited to see what happens to our favorite characters.

In Mr. H's class we read from the Mixed Up Files chapter 7.

Social Studies: Our states and capitals this week are Michigan - Lansing, Minnesota - Saint Paul, Mississippi - Jackson, Missouri - Jefferson City, Montana - Helena. We read lesson three from chapter 2 today pages 70-73. This section dealt with the southwest desert tribes.

English/Writing: We continued to finish pen pal letters.
