Happy Halloween! What a crazy Monday!

Here is what we did today:

Math: We discussed finding averages of numbers. Problem set 50 was assigned. We will have a math test on Tuesday.

Reading: In Mrs. D's class we read from the Mixed Up Files. Chapters 6-8 and their questions is due on Wednesday. We also listened to some more of The People of Sparks.

In Mr. H's class we read from Shiloh Season chapters 4 and 5.

Science: Today we did some pumpkin science. We looked at some of the attributes that pumpkins have and thanks to our wonderful PTO each of our 5th graders had a pumpkin to take home today.

Social Studies: Our states and capitals this week are:
New York - Albany, Ohio - Columbus, Oklahoma - Oklahoma City, Oregon - Salem, Pennsylvania - Harrisburg. The quiz over these will be on Friday.

Mrs. D's class took their chapter 2 unit test today.

English/Writing: We worked on our Pen Pal letters today. We also reviewed linking and helping verbs. We had an assignment on this that is due on Tuesday.

Spelling: Unit 10 is this weeks lesson. Pretest Tuesday, book due on Thursday and final test on Friday. Here are this weeks words:
rehearse, perfume, murmur, worth, external, circulate, service, disturb, world, internal, alert, search, further, current, burnt, worst, purpose, deserve, squirrel, conserve
