Happy Friday!

Here is what we did today:

Math: We did a review of dividing fractions, multiplying and dividing whole numbers.

Science: In Mrs. D's class we shared our "Golden Nuggets" from our small science books.

Reading: In Mrs. D's class we worked on our end of the year projects.

English/Writing: We wrote a note for Mrs. K since she is retiring!

Spelling: We took our final test and turned in our books.

Thanks to all of the parents who went on our trip to Notre Dame yesterday!

Happy Wednesday!

Here is what we did today:

Math: We worked on our fraction review packet that is due on Friday.

Science: In Mr. H's class we began our presentations. In Mrs. D's class we had a celebration for our student helper!

Social Studies: We drew a map of the United States.

Spelling: Workbook pages are due tomorrow.

English/Writing: We wrote letters to our thank you letters for LEAD today.

Reading: In Mrs. D's class we read the next five chapters in the Pinballs book.

In Mr. H's class we read a story about Paul Revere.

Happy Tuesday,

Here is what we did today:

Math: We took our last computation test! YEAH! The kids are glad this is the last time!

Science: We had to take up this time finishing the computation test.

Spelling: We took our pretest and workbook pages were assigned and are due on Thursday. Final test on Friday.

English/Writing: We had a writing prompt on our plans for the summer.

Social Studies: We watched a Dear America video on the Revolutionary War.

Reading: In Mrs. D's class we continued in our book Pinballs. We were to read up to chapter 10.

In Mr. H's class we read the House on Dies Drear this story is about the underground railroad.

Happy Monday!

We apologize about not posting a entry for the past few days. Between absent teachers and interruptions there was not a chance to post.

Here is what we did today:

Math: Today we reviewed multiplying and dividing fractions and mixed numbers. We had a packet to work on that will be due on Friday.

Science: In Mr. H's class we worked on our projects and in Mrs. D's class we finished a video.

Social Studies: We discussed the Revolutionary war.

Spelling: Unit 35 this week. We wrote our words 10 times each. The pretest will be on Tuesday. Here are the words this week apt., no., qt., in., gal., oz., yd., lb., sq., Gen., ave., wt., yr., co., doz., pkg., amt., pt., hr., ft.

English/Writing: We did a correction sheet.

Reading: In Mrs. D's class we began a new book called Pinballs.

In Mr. H's class we worked on a reading comprehension sheet.

Happy Tuesday!

Here is what we did today:

Math: Today in math we did some review sheets dealing with place value, dividing and problem solving! The students had two worksheets to do for tomorrow!

Science: Today in science we began to discuss our Earth Science activities. We split into groups today.

Social Studies: We read from a book dealing with different social studies topics and answered questions.

English/Writing: We had a free write while answering a question about what we would like to do in our free time.

Reading: In Mrs. D's class we spent time in the computer lab and we continued our PhD oral reports. We also completed our choice books and took AR tests on these books

In Mr. H's class comprehension questions dealing with different topic books.

Spelling: We took our pretest and workbook pages are due on Thursday.

Happy Monday!

Here is what we did today:

Math: Today we played a math game dealing with factors and multiples. No Homework tonight for math.

Science: Today we began a project where we are each reading a small book dealing with different earth science topics. We will be doing mini lessons next week.

Spelling: Unit 34 is this weeks lesson. The words are: haiku, macaroni, karate, chipmunk, alligator, knapsack, boomerang, plaza, kimono, plaid, robot, waffle, crochet, yogurt, shampoo, beret, burro, guitar, hammock, yodel.
We wrote our words three times each and will have a pretest tomorrow.

Reading: In Mrs. D's class we began our PhD presentations. We had six people present today and we learned a lot about their topics.

In Mr. H's class we read a story from the old textbook called A Wrinkle in Time.

Social Studies: We discussed the writing of the Declaration of Independence.

Happy Cinco de Mayo!

Here is what we did today:

Math: Today we took a test over chapters studied previously.

Spelling: Today we took our unit 32 test.

Reading: In Mrs. D's class we worked on some Cinco De Mayo activities and we had a last chance to work on our PhD reports. We also went to the library for the last time and we worked with our first grade buddies.

In Mr. H's class we did some reading for AR and we also had a reading comprehension sheet.

English/Writing: In Mr. H's class we watched a video and did some creative witting.

Social Studies: We read a Time for Kids book dealing with different topics in small groups and answered some comprehension questions.

Happy Thursday!

Here is what we did today:

Today was Benchmark testing day! We took tests over reading/language arts and math. That took a big portion of our morning!

In Mrs. D's class we spent some time in the computer lab working on our PhD reports that are due on Monday!

Math: We discussed multiplying mixed numbers and problem set 120 was assigned and we will have a test on Friday.

Spelling: Workbook pages were collected and we will have a test on Friday.

Social Studies: We discussed the beginning of the Revolutionary War.

Happy Tuesday!

Here is what we did today:

Math: Today we worked on dividing decimal numbers by decimal numbers. Problem set 119 was assigned and is due on Wednesday.

Science: We discussed lakes, rivers and ice today. We also looked at water treatment facilities. We had a review sheet dealing with what we discussed today.

Reading: In Mrs. D's class we spent our reading time today in the computer lab making up for no computer time last week. We worked on our PhD projects the entire time. Ask your child when their PhD oral report will be next week.

In Mr. H's class we read from the old textbook a story titled "The kid in the Red Jacket".

English/Writing: We had a story starter in class.

Spelling: Today we took a pretest and our workbook pages are due on Thursday.

Social Studies: We had an end of chapter 8 open book test to do in class today.

Happy Monday!

Happy May 1st!

Here is what we did today:

Math: Today in math we worked on volume and surface area! The students had two worksheets reviewing these skills to do for homework.

Science: Today we discussed lesson 1 from chapter 7 dealing with oceans. A review worksheet was assigned and is due tomorrow.

Reading: In Mrs. D's class we worked on our choice books, and our PhD reports that are due one week from today.

In Mr. H's class we read an excerpt from our old reading book called you be the jury.

English/Writing: We had an in class writing activity.

Spelling: Unit 33 is this weeks lesson. Today we wrote our words three times each today and will take a pretest tomorrow. Here are this weeks words: delight, exit, public, increase, freedom, lengthen, backward, liberty, narrow, eastern, entire, western, decrease, private, whole, extend, forward, pleasure, entrance, slender.

Social Studies: We discussed the legal system and discussed the You be the Jury story.
